Family Easter trail fun!

Join the Friends and explore Wantage on our fun Easter egg trail.  Trail sheets are available from the school office at £2 per entry. Completed sheets win a medium sized Cadburys Easter egg.

The School Council have received requests from the student population to improve the playground, so all monies raised will go towards outside play equipment.

Cook for Classrooms

Year 4 raised an amazing £236.67 for their classrooms last term, but can year 3 do better?  Year 3 students will receive plates/labels/bags next week, ready for their bake sale on Friday 23rd March.

Please support this event by purchasing a yummy treat on the day, to help the students raise funds for their classroom.

Mother's Day Present Palace

Mother's Day Present Palace will be open at lunchtime and after school tomorrow, Tuesday 6 March and lunchtime on Wednesday 7 March in the KS1 library.  Children who would like to take part should bring their money in a sealed envelope or container, clearly marked with their name and class. All gifts will be priced at £1 and proceeds will go towards outdoor play equipment.

The Friends are still collecting donated items for the Present palace, which can be handed in at school reception.  Thank you for supporting this event.  We wish everyone a very happy Mother's Day this coming Sunday.

Volunteers & donations needed

The Friends are seeking volunteers to help serve drinks and sell plates at the Celebrate Music event on Monday 5th March from 6-8pm and to help out at the Mothers Day Present Palace on Wednesday 7th March from 11:30am - 1:30pm. If you are free and willing to help, please email us using this link.

The Friends are also looking for donations of new, unwanted gifts for the Present Palace.  A donation box is next to the office.

Adverse weather conditions

Please keep a close eye on your emails and the Wantage CE website for the latest updates about the school during the current adverse weather conditions.  Local radio stations (BBC Radio Oxford, Heart FM and Jack FM) will also be informed if the school needs to close.

Reminder - World Book Day events

Don't forget to bring in a book in need of a new home for the 'Bookworm Event' this Thursday.  Year groups will be making a line with the donated books and competing to see who can make the longest Bookworm. All book donations will go to the school.

**UPDATE** Due to adverse weather conditions, the Friends Bookworm Event has been postponed. The Share a Story event is still happening - details below:

Children are also encouraged to celebrate World Book Day by making a scene from their favourite book inside a shoe box, to share with their peers in the 'Share a Story' session and dressing up as their favourite book character. There's still time to get creative!
